In the aftermath of Hurricane Ivan in September 2004, which severely damaged the four main churches in St. George’s: namely the R.C Cathedral and the Anglican, Methodist and Presbyterian Churches; the Foundation, through the brain child of Tony Webster of Barbados initiated project: FAITH WITH ACTION, in order to raise funds to assist the churches in their restoration work. The Methodist restoration was completed in 2010, while the Cathedral was completed in 2012. Work on the other two churches have not yet begun, but a recent bulletin from the Anglican Archdeacon stated that work on his church should begin in August 2014.
Project : FAITH WITH ACTION, up to 2012 raised approximately EC$85,000.00. Our main benefactors were the Kent Family of Carriacou, Trevor Kent of Barbados, Grenada Rotary Club, Sir Royston Hopkin, Coyaba Beach Resort and Colombian Emeralds. The funds collected were divided among the four churches. In order to assist in the commencement of work on both the Anglican and Presbyterian churches, the Foundation takes this opportunity to solicit the goodwill of patriotic Grenadians in financially assisting in the preservation of our History and Cultural Heritage.
